Briefs

Instructions written once and read first by every streamline that includes them — your voice, your words, what never to do

LIB-2The LibraryAll sections ↓

A brief is guidance you write once and share: how your business sounds, the words you use, what the assistant must never do. Any streamline can include it. The assistant reads the included briefs first, in the order the streamline lists them, then the streamline's own instructions.

Writing one

Library → Briefs → New Brief. Give it a short id (letters, numbers and hyphens, like house-voice) and write it in Markdown: # headings, **bold**, - lists. View shows it as a page; Edit shows the text with a formatting bar (bold, italic, code, heading, list, numbered list, quote, link) that works on what you select.

Keep business rules out (your systems enforce those), and never put keys, passwords or personal details in a brief. A brief can be up to 20,000 characters, but a short one costs less on every message.

Including it

Open a streamline in the Library and find Briefs above Instructions. Include a brief adds one; the arrows change the order; the minus stops including it. A brief that no longer exists is marked missing and skipped.

Used by

A brief's page lists every streamline that includes it, with its place in that streamline's list (#1, #2). Tap one to open it. Editing a brief changes all of them: on this device from their next message; in an organization, on the next publish. Deleting a brief names who reads it first.

The Concierge

Ask the Concierge (FR-7) to make or change a brief, and to include it in your streamlines. As with everything it does, you see the changes and tap Save.
