The sidebar and cards — each streamline a card, its open chats as tabs, the overview, Chats and its theme beside it
On the Mac, Streamliner is a sidebar beside a row of cards, in one window with a slim top edge: the window's buttons sit over the sidebar and the cards start right at the top. Every destination is a card: each streamline, and the Library, Usage, the Vault, Settings, Style, About and Report an Issue. It looks and works like manolab's other Mac apps.
The sidebar
At the top, your organization's name and yours (or On this device). Then, in this order, with a gap between groups and no headings:
- Any arrangements you have kept, and Keep This Arrangement while one is on screen without a row. See Side by side, windows and arrangements (MAC-2).
- Your streamlines, in your organization's order. Each row shows the streamline's icon and name, and at the right edge the count of chats that need you and the unread ones. A click opens that streamline's latest chat in its card (or a new chat when it has none).
- Under each streamline, its open chats, newest first, each with its title, when it last changed and its last message. Click one to open it as the card's selected tab; the chat on screen is outlined. Right-click a chat for the same menu as its tab: Rename…, Speak Replies, Copy Chat Reference, Close Tab, Archive Chat and Delete Chat….
- Right-click a streamline's row for its menu: a new chat, Show Side by Side, Open in New Window, Show Finished Chats, Archive All Finished, its Theme and Edit in Library, where you may. To start another chat beside the one you're in, use the + at the end of the card's tabs. A new chat appears in the sidebar once you type in it.
- Discover (coming soon), Library (on this device, and for an organization's owners and admins; it shows how many changes are staged; LIB-1), Usage (owners and admins of an organization), Vault, Settings, Style (with the name of the theme the app is wearing), About (with the build number, the shortcuts and this manual), and Report an Issue last (MAC-3).
A streamline card
The card's header shows the streamline's icon and name, and how many chats are open, or On site only if it is. The card wears the streamline's color.
Under the header, the tab band holds the chats you have open, one tab each. The selected tab has a colored underline. Each tab carries one mark for the most urgent thing about it: an error, a confirmation that needs your tap, a form or sign-in waiting for an answer, something unread, the assistant at work, waiting on someone else, or done.
- + at the end of the band starts a new chat (⌘N).
- ⌃⇥ and ⌃⇧⇥ move to the next or previous tab; ⌘W closes the selected tab.
- Closing a tab never deletes the chat. It stays in the streamline, open or done, and you can bring it back from Chats.
- When there are more tabs than fit, the band scrolls sideways.
Beside the card
Icons at the right of the header open a panel docked to the card's edge, one at a time:
- The overview of the selected chat, such as the sale ticket (⌥⌘I). See The overview (ST-4).
- Chats: every chat in this streamline, with a search field (⌘F). Finished ones wait behind Show finished. Pick one to open it as a tab; a chat whose tab is closed says Closed tab · click to open. Its context menu has Rename…, Copy Chat Reference, Speak Replies, Archive Chat and Delete Chat… (also in the Chat menu).
If you may change the streamline's look (your own streamlines on this device; an organization's owners and admins), a palette follows them. It opens the streamline's Theme card beside it. See Appearance (AP-1).
What to watch for
- A confirmation waiting in a chat whose tab is closed still counts on the sidebar row, and the chat is listed under it. Nothing that needs you is hidden. A row's count is what is listed under it: finished chats count only while they are shown.
- The layout is kept per organization and person: switching person or organization shows that person's own cards and tabs.
- When your access to an organization ends, its windows close and its layout is removed with the rest.
