Signing in to your organization's systems

Connect Your Accounts when you open an organization, the sign-in card when a session ends, and systems that sign in one customer per chat

Your organization's streamlines work in its own systems as you: a finance system, a point of sale, a customer database. Some of these ask you to sign in to them separately from your organization's sign-in. Each sign-in happens on that system's own page, and it stays on this device. It never goes to the assistant.

Connect Your Accounts

When you open an organization (from the account switcher, when the app starts, or right after you join), Streamliner checks that you're really signed in to every system its streamlines need: not just that a sign-in is saved, but that the system still takes it. A sign-in that has run out is renewed quietly when the system allows it. For a moment you may see Checking your sign-ins…; it never takes more than a few seconds. If a system needs you to sign in (you were never signed in, your sign-in expired, or the system signed you out), Connect Your Accounts comes up first, in the organization's colors: each system with a line about which login to use, and Sign In. Its page opens; sign in there, and a check appears. Continue opens your chats when every system has its check.

If everything is already signed in, you go straight to your chats. You're asked once each time you open the organization, and again when you come back to the app after a long time away, but only if a sign-in has lapsed; never in the middle of a chat. If a system can't be reached (you're offline, or it doesn't answer in time), you aren't held at this page: you go to your chats, and the sign-in card asks later if it's needed.

Not now opens your chats anyway (useful when a system's sign-in page is down). The streamlines that still need a sign-in show a small key mark next to their name, and the first time the assistant needs that system, a sign-in card appears in the chat instead.

One sign-in per system

If two streamlines use the same system (say Accounts and Layaway both use the finance system), signing in once covers both.

When a session ends

Systems end sessions on their own schedule. When that happens in the middle of a chat, the assistant stops and a card says Sign in to the system again. Sign in, and the step it was taking runs once, as if nothing happened. Not now stops that step; nothing is sent. See Sign-in cards (AS-4).

Systems that sign in one customer per chat

Some systems sign in as the customer rather than as you: the customer confirms who they are on the system's page, for example with a PIN sent to their phone. In those streamlines, each chat is one customer:

  • A new chat starts with Sign in for this customer. Complete it together with the customer on the system's page; then the chat begins.
  • That sign-in belongs to that chat only. Another chat in the same streamline signs in for its own customer, and the previous customer's details are never reused: the sign-in page starts fresh each time.
  • When the chat is done, archived or deleted, its sign-in is removed from this device. Opening an old chat later asks for the sign-in again.

These systems aren't on Connect Your Accounts; Settings → Accounts → the organization → Connections lists them as Signs in for each chat.

Seeing and removing your sign-ins

Settings → Accounts → the organization → Connections lists each system: Signed in with Sign Out, or Not signed in, Expired (the sign-in ran out) or Signed out (the system ended it) with Sign In. It says the same as Connect Your Accounts. Signing out of the organization removes all of its sign-ins from this device. A streamline of your own (On this device) that uses the same system keeps its own, separate sign-in, listed in the Vault.
