The Library

Where owners, admins and anyone on their own device see what their streamlines are made of — streamlines, briefs, templates and forms

LIB-1The LibraryAll sections ↓

The Library is at the top of the settings group in the sidebar (on the iPhone, a row on the home list). It is for the people who shape an account: you, on your own device, and an organization's owners and admins. Members never see it.

What is in it

  • Streamlines: each desk's definition. Open one to change it in the editor (LIB-3). New Streamline is the first row (in an organization, New Streamline (staged)); on this device Import a File is the last.
  • Briefs: guidance written once and read by every streamline that includes it (LIB-2). Each row says how many streamlines read it.
  • Templates: the card designs that draw a tool's result. Open one to see it drawn with made-up sample data and whether it passes the check; Edit changes its design (the preview follows as you type). A template only displays; it can never send anything.
  • Forms: an organization's secure forms and views. Open one to see how it looks; Edit changes its file (staged). Nothing can be typed or sent in a preview.

Every row with an arrow opens its own page, which slides in with a back arrow at the top; that header is the page's only one. Each section says what it is in one line; the (?) beside a line shows the rest.

On this device

Changes save on this device when you tap Save (⌘S on a keyboard). Anything that would let a tool run without your tap (a new server, a tool moved to run freely, a new image host) or a new streamline shows the changes first and waits for Save on that card. Every saved change is in the Concierge's history and can be undone.

In an organization

Stage… shows exactly what would change and what the check says; Stage keeps it on this device. The Library then says N staged, and its Staged changes page lists every staged file with its differences, lets you unstage one or discard all, and publishes them: Publish v…, on a device an owner approved (see Publishing from the app, AD-5). If someone else changed the same thing meanwhile, a conflict card asks which to keep before you can publish. With Files on this Mac turned on, the staged files are also copied into that folder, under the organization's name, with a CHANGES.md.

An organization keeps each streamline's private half (its briefs, instructions, model and tools) off members' devices. An owner's or admin's device reads it once an owner approves its publishing key; until then the editor's What the assistant reads tab says so.
